In my opinion

Several months ago while at the library, G randomly pulled a red dot (suited for toddlers) book off the shelf to check out. I quickly glanced through it and it looked okay. I was wrong - it was not okay, in fact it is probably one of the best early childhood books I have ever read! The Big Red Tub has vibrant illustrations, predictable text, rhymes, sing song rhythm while reading, and is great for making predictions. When we first checked it out we ended up renewing it 3 times and I think we read it every single day. G is in love with this book. G received a copy for Christmas and she wanted me to read it as soon as she opened it this morning. We also read it at nap and at bedtime. I can't believe that in my 10 years of teaching I never ran across this book. I just couldn't let this by chance find go untold.

If you are planning on purchasing this book I was unable to find it at any of our local bookstores and had to order it online. I think it also only comes in hardback, but it is an inexpensive book.

I bought that book for Freeman. I'll have to add it to my purchase list for La Villita since we have so many pre K students. It is a very good book.
