9 months

M was 9 months old last Wednesday - can you believe it? My baby is growing up so fast. She is really developing a personality and I think she is taking more after me whereas G takes more after her daddy. M is extremely nosey and is always curious as to what is going on. If she can't see what she wants to see she will get to it someway or another. She is starting to mimic sounds and scoot on her belly. She is not up on all 4's yet, but that will probably not be far behind. She loves to stand up and her little legs are very strong. She can stand for quite a while just holding on the edge of something or someones hands. She is not pulling herself up yet either, but that will probably come right along with the crawling in another month or so. She is beginning to become quite the cuddler. She will let you hold her and love on her, except when she is tired. She will even give hugs back now! She is also eating anything and everything. Some of her finger foods that she loves are: carrots, peas, whole wheat bread, green beans, broccoli, squash, apples, bananas, and black olives. She is also getting very vocal in letting us know when she wants more food and when she is all done. We are signing with her so she can communicate with us before she can actually form the words. Some signs we are using are milk, eat, more, and all done. Signing was wonderful when G was her age and needed to communicate. She also still loves to nurse but can get quite distracted at times with G in the room.

M had her well baby visit today. She is still quite small for her age. She is at the bottom of the charts for weight but I have to remind myself that those growth charts were created based on formula fed babies, not breast fed babies. Also, there are going to be perfectly healthy and thriving babies at either end of the chart as well as all points in between.

M's Stats at 9 Months:
Height - 27 inches (30%)
Weight - 16 pounds 1 ounce (10%)

G's Stats at 9 months:
Height - 25 1/4 inches (<5%)
Weight- 16 pounds 5 ounces (10%)

I think M might be getting her daddy's height!
