Not Only Sugar and Spice Anymore

It has been almost 2 years since I have updated, sorry.  This past year has been very busy and we have had some changes in the Trost household.  We now have a little frog, snail, and puppy dog tail to add to our sugar and spice and everything nice!  Benjamin joined our family on September 20th in the wee hours of the morning!  I am exhausted, but loving every moment with this sweet little guy!

Christmas Parade

Classic M Face

Brrr, it was cold outside this morning for the annual Christmas Parade. We had to brave the cold temperatures because Miss G had her parade debut! Her Y Princesses group, Eagle Princesses, all rode in the parade. Miss M, Grandma, and I were so lucky to get to watch the whole thing.

Miss M's Favorite!

Here come the girls!

Miss G is on the far side of the trailer.

Santa ended the parade!

Santa

We went to see Santa today at Jesuit's Christmas Bazaar. I wish we would have taken two cars so that I could have stayed and shopped. It is probably best that I couldn't shop though because I saw a lot that I would have loved to have looked at more!

G hopped right in Santa's lap and told him that she wanted a scooter, a Barbie movie, and a pet fish. Hmmm, I guess I need to make sure Santa knows about the fish and movie! M gladly told Santa that she also wanted a scooter, a pet fish, and a Leapster, but she would not sit on his lap. So, we had a family Santa picture. Matt was thrilled to be photographed!

Christmas Pictures

Picture taking time is always an adventure with the Trost girls. This photo shoot did not disappoint my desire for adventure! G was posing this way and that and eager for more. M, on the other hand, wanted to: run around the Christmas tree, chase birds, throw rocks in the pond, and had to point out every "train" (light rail) that pulled into the nearby station. Ahhh, my sweet girls!

Thanksgiving Day Photo

Everyone was together this Thanksgiving. I don't think that has ever happened before! Usually a sister, a brother, or an in-law are missing. I took full advantage of this photo opportunity, even if it was not at the top of everyone's list. I will cherish these forever!

Y Princesses and Adventure Guides

Last weekend Miss G went to Camp Grady Spruce with the other Kindergarteners from around the area with her Y Princess tribe. She had a great time, but was a little bashful. She wouldn't get in a lot of the pictures. Matt took a camera, but being that it was 4:30 am when they left I handed him the wrong one. The one he took had a dead battery. Oops! Luckily one of the other dad's sent some pictures our way. Thanks Frank!

The kids went on boat ride on the lake, went canoeing, horseback riding, shot BB guns, archery, made smores, hiked, went trick or treating with neighboring tribes, and watched fireworks. I know I am forgetting things, but these are what G talks most about!

Bittersweet Halloween

The sweet:
Miss M was a ham and looked quite adorable in her bumblebee costume. She had a blast trick or treating!

The bitter:
My poor little G was sick and couldn't go trick or treating.

The sweet again:
She got to trick or treat at camp this weekend, so at least she got to do that. We also have a fall festival at school on Thursday, and the kids can dress up in costume. I am hoping she will be better and able to at least wear her costume to the festival. Her amazing Kindergarten teacher said to bring her by her house, and she can at least trick or treat there!
