My Sick Child :(

G is sick. She had little bit of a runny nose yesterday, but was acting just fine. Last night we went to a barbecue at Jesuit. She was fine for about the first 10 minutes, but then when it came time to eat she didn't want anything to eat or drink. With in 10 to 15 minutes of sitting down to eat she spiked a high fever. Of course we left immediately and by the time we got home her fever was 103. She also fell asleep in the car on the way home and for those that know G and car sleeping - it just doesn't happen, so we knew she was sick just from her falling asleep. Motrin helped her fever, and had 101 this morning. I took her to the doctor this morning - strep test negative, she has an upper respiratory infection, and possible UTI (we will know the results from the culture on Tuesday, the preliminary in office shows very high levels of white blood counts in the urine). They had to put in a catheter in my poor baby. I told the doc. about my urinary issues that I battled with for years until I finally went to a urologist and he got to the bottom of my issues and we treated the cause not just the symptoms. The doc. told me that many urinary issues are hereditary and that we will have to watch the girls closely because some urinary issues can be masked by other symptoms (which was the problem with me). I hope that this is an isolated incident with the UTI and I also hope and pray that M doesn't get the upper respiratory infection. And of course Matt and I went back to work this week. His students start tomorrow (luckily just a half day, so he can be with G in the afternoon) and mine start on Monday. If Madeline does get sick it will probably be just in time for my first day of school. Doesn't it just always happen that way?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the upside to the doc. visit. G finally weighs 22 pounds even. It seems like she was at 20 to 21 pounds for forever even though she eats ALL the time.
