The Land of Coughs and Poops

It has been a rough past few days around the Trost household.

G has had a sinus/allergy thing for 3 weeks. We have been to the doctor 2 times. She does not act like she feels bad and she does not have an infection, just a chronic cough, runny nose, and watery eyes. We first tried natural remedies - relief, but it was short lived. Then, we tried Nasonex and eye drops - better, but not cleared up. Now, we are on an oral antihistamine - so far no relief. The doc. is considering to go ahead and do the full blown allergy testing on her because we may need to be treating specific triggers instead. Doc. also thinks that G may have asthma, but not the normal bronchial inflammation asthma, hers is more tracheal.

M is constipated. Poor baby is screaming when trying to poop. This started on Sunday. We called the doc. they said to give her an infant suppository. Did one - no relief. Did a 2nd - seemed to help, until the next day. Monday she was screaming (and shaking) while trying to poop. She wouldn't nurse well either. We stopped her cereal on Sunday when this started. Called the doc. again - called her in an oral laxative and give her an infant enema. We could not find an infant enema so we did another suppository. She pooped a lot on Tuesday, but is still crying while going.
