M was 6 months on the 17th - I can't believe she has been in our lives for half a year already. Maddie is such a happy baby. She gives us the biggest smiles and her eyes dance and her dimples just make your heart melt. M is now mobile - she can roll to wherever she wants to go. G is having a difficult time when M gets one of "her" toys. What is she going to do when Maddie starts crawling and walking????
M has been exclusively breastfed and we will be starting some cereal mixed with breast milk this weekend. Once she gets used to cereal and we make sure there are no allergies we will move onto veggies and then fruit. G liked the barley cereal the best, I wonder what Mwill like the best, besides boob of course!
She went for her 6 month check up today and the pediatrician says she is a perfect baby - which I didn't need anyone to tell me that. She is following in her sister's footsteps. When G was 6 months that is when she starting dropping in her percentages as well.
Just for comparison at 6 months:
G: 14 pounds 7 ounces, 21 1/2 inches long
M: 13 pounds 8 ounces (10%), 25 1/4 inches long (35%)
I was shocked that M lost from her 4 month check up (13 pounds 15 ounces, 24 1/2 inches) because all she has had is the most perfect food - breast milk. The ped. was not concerned at all - after all, she has numerous rolls, is extremely happy, sleeps well, and is meeting all her developmental milestones. Ahh, to be tall and thin - I wonder if she will keep her height or if my genes will take over there.
I am hoping to get some more pictures this weekend and post them soon. Here is a picture of M eating her toes - yummy!

Love the picture--those toes must be yummy indeed. I think back to my own two babies who each weighed in at 20 lbs, 4 ounces at their first year check up. Now one is 5 feet tall and the other six feet--could it be the difference between breast milk and bottle fed? I will always wonder about that.
