Upset at Santa

The girls had a Christmas party last night with all the families that go to Love and Lollipops. Santa made his annual visit to the party which sent G and M running to my side. M went up to Santa for a candy cane and she gave him a high 5. G of course wanted nothing to do with him. When Santa left he gave hugs and high 5's for those that did not want a hug. Here is the convo. with the girls and I:
Me: Girls, Santa is leaving do you want to give him a hug before he leaves?
(M runs over and gives him another high 5)
G: No.

On the way home...
G: Mommy, I am upset at Santa.
Me: Why?
G: He left without giving me a high 5. I wanted to give him a high 5 and he just left.
Me: I asked you if you wanted to before he left and you said no.
G: But Santa should have KNOWN (really emphasized) that I wanted to give him a high 5.

This morning...
G: Mommy, I am still upset at Santa. (the rest of the conversation was pretty much the same as the night before except the end)
G: Next time I see Santa I am going to tell him he hurt my feelings!

Being that early childhood education is one of passions and my undergrad degree I understand that a 3 year is not logical and does not fully get consequences for their actions for several more years. Sure a 3 year old can understand that something that happens over and over again has a similar consequence each time (slamming your finger in a drawer=hurting finger, taking a toy away from a sibling = apology, giving the toy back, and sometimes timeout, etc...). Nothing about Santa is logical and don't you know that Santa knows all is the logic of a 3 year old.

Boy does she make me laugh!

That is hilarious...I mean if he sees you when you're sleeping, knows if you've been bad or good...he should KNOW you want a high 5!!
