Christmas Parade and Cookie Baking

We braved the 40 degree weather this morning to watch our first Christmas parade - by myself with the girls. They had a blast!!! G says her favorite part was the cheerleaders and the dancers. M loved the fire truck (that is what she is pointing to in the below picture). G actually loved the fire truck too - the firefighters were the only people she waved too the entire 2 hours. The 40 degree temp. was actually not bad at all considering their was no wind and earlier in the week it was in the 20's during the day. The girls also loved seeing Ashley, the daughter of the girl's child care provider, in her dance gear. Boy does that bring back memories. They were full of sugar when we left (the first picture below they both have lollipops in their mouth), but what's a parade without candy? The parade route is less than a mile from our house. Because of the chilly temps, we drove up the street about 3/4 of the distance and then took the stroller from there. We will definitely go back next year!
This afternoon we baked sugar cookies. It was Miss M's first time, and she is a natural baker. She knew just what to do with the rolling pin and cookie cutters. I love sharing moments like this with my girls. Even though these moments are not big or extravagant, these are the moments they will remember for years to come.

I love making sugar cookies with Allie. It was something I always did with my mom and I'm glad I get to do that with my own daughter. It may be a big mess when it's all said and done, but well worth it. Glad you all had such a good time.
