Thanksgiving

Ahhhh, the house is back to its normal buzz of 4 people. The bustle of a houseful of 10 people for 4 days has left me exhausted, but overjoyed with the time I got to spend with my family. I realize just how good life is that even though I may sometimes have whiny, needy children that I have healthy children. I find myself having to remember that when it is stressful and crazy with two darlings hanging on me while trying to finish up the last of our Thanksgiving meal that will feed our 18 mouths plus a small army.

Wednesday morning I made all the little ones turkey shaped pancakes. Don't laugh, it really is supposed to be a turkey.

Meghan carefully decorated a Thanksgiving banner. The little ones all had a letter to decorate as well. The banner turned out great and looked wonderful displayed on the mantle. Thanks Meghan for doing such a super job!

The three year olds had a turkey magnet game I put together for them. They enjoyed playing with them, but stick on magnets do not work best on foam. In the future, I will use felt or card stock. As you can see it was also fun for an 8 year old and a 20 month old.

Thanksgiving morning all the girls watched the parade in their jammies - what fun!

The pictures seem to stop here because from this point on the neediness I wrote about in the beginning of the post began after nap time on Thanksgiving day.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to write about Matt running in the 8 mile timed Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. He was pleased with his time and on his way to be ready for the half marathon approaching soon. I am proud of you Matt!

Friday, I was able to sneak out for a couple of hours to do some much needed therapeutic shopping - kid free.
